okay so here's some more pictures from bali. sorry i'm slow to post. it really is a pain in the butt to put pictures up. i'll try and do a lot tonight though.
here is some balinese food we got the second night. it's called Balut. Not to be confused with Balut, the egg, this is eel. And delicious at that.
Here, I'm reading Animal Farm on the beach. Not exactly you're typical mindless girly beach reading, but I have such little time to relax and read. I'm not wasting it on retarded books.
At lunch in Kuta, the more touristy part of the island. Our area was full of resorts and pretty "tourist-friendly", but this area is the more crowded busy tourist-trap laden area.

This is satay. It's delicious. We ate it like 10 times. Traditional Indonesian food. The brown sauce is peanut sauce.
For those who are under 18 reading this, shield your eyes.
Everyone else: Hilarious and bizarre bumper stickers. This is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of strange, sexual propaganda that we saw while shopping. I'm not aware of why this cultural phenomenon exists, and I didn't inquire as to its origin. Better off not knowing.
Buddhist temple smack in the middle of Kuta
More of the Buddhist temple
Tom and I on the way to the black sand beaches.
The view from the canoe/boat while on the way to snorkeling. This is one of my favorite pictures from the trip.
Snorkeling!!!!!!
Looking straight down out of the side of the boat. This was probably like 30 feet down and you could see straight to the bottom.
Blue starfish
Underwater landscape while snorkeling . . . more snorkeling pictures to come with another post. I don't want to bore you with a bunch of pictures that all look alike.
These are the offerings they would put out a few times a day. It's a little basket made out of palm leaves with flowers, vegetables, crackers and stuff. They're all over the streets.
Some places had a giant area specifically for them to put their offerings. Mostly they're like booster seats for the offerings. You can see it sitting on the back.
A monkey on the side of the road. Yea, a monkey. There were a lot in this area apparently. They look like they stepped right out of Lion King.
Fat Monkey
at our favorite restaurant: CasaBella. The waiter was the cutest little thing. I just wanted to make him mini and carry him in my pocket.
"Bali used to have two feet, rice and tourism. Now, Bali only has one foot. No more rice. We need to love our one foot. And we do. We love our foot."
Our precious waiter, on the tourism industry in Bali
More pictures later in the week . . .
