In good "football" spirit, I wore my Saints tee shirt.
I already knew South Africa was an underdog in this competition. But apparently France sucks as well (and I mean before all the "half the team quits" drama). Luckily there are enough South Africans in Daejeon, that it was not a quiet, boring evening. Proudly, I blew the vuvuzela for the first time! A real one, not the plastic 12 in. ones. It took a few tries. You need to let your lips go a little bit. . . If anyone is interested, I'm giving lessons now.
South Africa won the match, but unfortunately they didn't win by enough to secure a spot in the second round.
I like how I'm updating this as if I were on Mars and none of you have cable . . . feel free to ignore the entire post and go read a professional version on ESPN.
South Korea plays in about an hour. Alas, I will be with Winkin, Blinkin, and Nod. I am, however, wearing my Korea red shirt, and Victory Korea!!! ankle socks to bed.
Dae Han Min Guk!
