bamboo-zled

i just got the news. . .

korea's one and only (that i know of) Cinco de Mayo celebration has been postponed. May 2-8 is a week of mourning for the Cheonan tragedy. I guess they don't mourn the same way Americans do: with booze and tons of food. oh well, i guess i'll just have to celebrate Ventidos de Mayo instead (like i said, it's been postponed).

I'm sitting here eating my grilled cheese (first one in weeks, get off my back), and I would like to officially state: It sucks to hang dry your towels. Or the towels just suck exponentially when they do not go through a dryer.

This weekend a friend and I are planning on going to the Danyang Bamboo Festival (click here). And that will be pretty exciting. There is a TON OF STUFF to do there. Plus, it will be nice to get out of town. . . . like I've even seen half of Daejeon. But think of all the pictures you will get to see! ooooooh aaaaaaaah.

so this week was testing week again (every month: tests and report cards). my little dunkeroos are learning so much! i only have to go nazi on them about once a week. obviously not all of them. just the 2 bad classes. the kindergarten kids are even making huge strides. of course, they relapse into crazytown every once in a while, but i just strap them to their chairs and administer chinese water torture. (joking.) it's going great, and it's interesting to say the least.

one of the kindergarten kids has recently gotten into the habit of saying, "hey baby come here" (like some cheesy come on). it's mildly disturbing and actually not at all cute. most things they do are at least a little cute.

well jazzfest started this past weekend. sadly i was not present. i did receive an adorable picture though . . .

oh look! and my dad is wearing a fishing shirt. . . a lot seems to have changed since i've been gone. who knew dad was a fisherman?
apparently both simon and garfunkel wanted to send me a matching pic, but mom and dad said no. that it was their idea first, and they didn't want copycats. so, i guess missing jazzfest wasn't all that bad, since it rained. and apparently this weekend will have a giant oil cloud or something? i don't really know. i get my news second hand here, not from The Daly Show like at home.

My new jacket . . . like my new haircut, but prettier.

  1. Hey Peanut,
Wow! Mom and I made your blog. Now I need to be extra careful on the photos that I send to you...just kidding.
Love the jacket. It looks great on you, but then, what wouldn't.
Have fun at the Bamboo Festival and take alot of photos. I bet it will be better than the Jazz & Heritage Festival...well maybe not.

    Love, Dad
